Welcome to My Personal Page
On July 23, 2017, I am riding for the 7th year to help find a cure for Friedreich’s ataxia (FA), a debilitating, life shortening neuromuscular disease that affects children of adolescent age.
While this disease has affected many people, it hit close to home many years ago when Nicole Kramer, the daughter of my friend, was diagnosed with it.
Nicole and her mom, Kelly, ride each year come rain or shine. Nicole is now 23 years old, she got engaged to her boyfriend Luke last October, and they have a wedding planned for this year!
A new addition to Nicole’s life is Jackman, a sweet black lab service dog from Canine Companions for Independence. Jackman has been a tremendous help to Nicole as her disease progresses.
While Nicole deals each day with the many challenges that this progressive disease brings on, she does it with a smile, a joke, and a lot of grace. She and her family are a true inspiration!
Since 2007, rideATAXIA has raised over $5 million to fund FA research progress. Your donation will help in supporting the urgent pace of that research.
Any amount will be welcome and I thank you in advance for your support!
