Superheroes and Shakespeare
I would like to be a superhero,
To fly in the clouds and run faster than
Light. I would expect no money, zero,
But I could think your thoughts and move a van,
Stop the bad guys and put them in the pound.
Go the distance and save a bunch of lives
By lifting that freight train off the ground.
The baddies couldn’t swing their knives,
Magneto would be proud of my power.
I could shoot webs and climb all the way up,
Use my genius brain, shoot a repulsor,
Represent my country, shrink or buildup.
And yet I would not this life ever trade.
Despite its hardships, my joy never does fade.
My name is Grace. I am sixteen years old and beginning my second year of high school. My life is filled with family, friends, academics...and some extra doctors appointments. Every year I look forward to rideATAXIA because it is a fun event raising money and awareness for the rare disease, Friedreich's ataxia. Last year, for the second year in a row, our team included over 50 riders, the largest at the event! Thank you, thank you for your support.
