Welcome to My Personal Page
On October 15, I am supporting the effort to cure Friedreich’s ataxia (FA), a debilitating, life shortening neuromuscular disease. I will combine my fundraising efforts along with the Jacquin family in the annual bike ride with local FA families, friends and cycling enthusiasts to redefine what is possible in FA research.
Laura Beth Jacquin is Jordan's dearest friend. They met at MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association) camp in 2005. They became the best of friends. It is hard to believe that they only had a little over 5 short years together as best friends. They would talk for hours on the phone during their college years. Laura Beth is a graduate of Berry College class of 2009. She is the very definition of courage and strength of spirit. I am helping with this effort because Laura Beth has the most beautiful soul of any person I have ever met. I cannot stand the thought of losing another precious beautiful loved one to this horrific group of neuromuscular diseases.
rideATAXIA was founded by Kyle Bryant, a young man with FA. Kyle redefined what was possible in his life when he took up recumbent cycling. He says after training for and completing his first century ride, "I can't even walk down the street, but I rode 100 miles in a day. After that the sky was the limit." Since 2007, rideATAXIA has raised over $5 million to fund FA research progress.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE! Join me in supporting the urgent pace of that research. DONATE, and together we will cure FA!
