On October 15, I'm riding to cure Friedreich’s ataxia (FA), a debilitating, life shortening neuromuscular disease. I’ll ride with local FA families, friends and cycling enthusiasts to redefine what is possible in FA research. I want to help find a cure for myself and all my friends effected by this disease. Please help me by donating to the cause. Bonus: if I raise more than $750 I even get a special FARA jersey. This is my first ride in Philadelphia and I need your support.
rideATAXIA was founded by Kyle Bryant, a young man with FA who is my friend and one of the first people I met with this disease when I was diagnosed. Kyle redefined what was possible in his life when he took up recumbent cycling. He says after training for and completing his first century ride, "I can't even walk down the street, but I rode 100 miles in a day. After that the sky was the limit." Since 2007, rideATAXIA has raised over $5 million to fund FA research progress.
I am joining Team Laura as she is another one of my friends with Friedreich’s Ataxia and together we all want to find a cure. I wasn’t planning on coming to the ride this year, but our annual 5K walk in Whitby Ontario Canada was cancelled this year and I want to do my part to help find a cure. So everything worked out and I will be here to participate.
Join me in supporting the urgent pace of that research. Donate. Together we will cure FA!
