"Kruising for a Kure" with Kate's Krewe
I have reached my initial goal of $1,000 in under two weeks. I don’t want to stop helping my friend though. A huge shout out to everyone who has donated! Your generosity has blown me away! I would love to take kate an even bigger check for this disease... there is still time to join, and I promise...every little bit helps!
On March 24th, I'm riding to cure Friedreich’s ataxia (FA), a debilitating, life shortening neuromuscular disease that my best friend Kate Walker has.
Any amount donated is greatly appreciated! No amount is too small. Every penny counts. :)
Plain and simple - Kate is my person.
When I look at Kate, I don't see a disability. I see my best friend. I see someone that will laugh with me, someone that will listen to me, and someone that will be there for me.
I have known Kate since the sixth grade. We are now in the ninth grade. If there is one thing that I know about Kate it is that she will not give up searching for a cure on good days or bad days. Kate may have trouble walking, but she is always full of joy and loves life! Kate inspires me to be the best version of myself possible and that to me is the best example of a true Godly friend.
My hope is that a cure is found soon and that all of us who love Kate can be there with her to celebrate in her victory! So help us "kruise to a kure"!In Dallas, I’ll ride with Kate and her family, other local FA families, friends and cycling enthusiasts to redefine what is possible in FA research.
rideATAXIA was founded by Kyle Bryant, a young man with FA. Kyle redefined what was possible in his life when he took up recumbent cycling. He says after training for and completing his first century ride, "I can't even walk down the street, but I rode 100 miles in a day. After that the sky was the limit." Since 2007, rideATAXIA has raised over $6 million to fund FA research progress.
Join me in supporting the urgent pace of that research. Donate. Together we will cure FA!
