Ashley Baer - FAith Riders
My name is Ashley Baer and I live in Baton Rouge, LA. I was diagnosed with Friedreich's Ataxia (FA) in April 2016 at the age of 28. I am now 30 years old and while my struggles continue I am reminded daily of the many blessings I have to be thankful for.
FA is a rare debilitating, life-shortening, degenerative neuro-muscular disorder affecting only one in 50,000 people in the United State. Learn more about FA here: http://www.curefa.org/whatis. Currently there is no known treatment, but with the help of people like you great advancements to understand the disease are underway. On Team FAith Riders, our mission is to raise awareness about FA to support ongoing research endeavors. On March 24th, my team and I will ride with rideATAXIA in Dallas. We'll be joined by several local FA families, friends and cycling enthusiasts riding as a team to redefine what is possible in FA research.
We are always looking for new team members, so please sign up to be a part of Team FAith Riders! If you are unable to participate, help us raise awareness by sharing our story. Donations are also very much appreciated. Every penny counts and no donation is too small. Be a part of the journey to find a cure and together we WILL cure FA!
