On July 23, we’re riding to cure Friedreich’s ataxia (FA), a debilitating, life shortening neuromuscular disease. We’ll ride with local FA families, friends and cycling enthusiasts to redefine what is possible in FA research.
I began noticing the symptoms of Friedreich’s Ataxia as early as age nine. Growing up is hard enough, but going through such formative years plagued by a disease which gradually robbed me of most physical abilities was uniquely challenging. Nonetheless, I tacked competitive schools and programs, most recently graduating from the University of Notre Dame. Now, at age 24, and completely dependent on other people (and my new service dog) for most everything, I am wholly committed to finding a cure or effective treatment for this horrific disease by raising funds and participating in scientific research. Join me, family and friends on July 23 for a lovely day riding bikes and raising money for the Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance.
Since 2007, rideATAXIA has raised over $5 million to fund FA research progress. Join us in supporting the urgent pace of that research. Donate. Together we will cure FA!
